The band "Two Tons of Steel" performed at the San Antonio Stock Show grounds on Feb 6th, 2010. They really got the crowd moving!

Front man Kevin Geil, shown here, describes their sound as “countrybilly”. For eight years, the band has been voted "Best Country Band" by the San Antonio Current. IMHO, calling them a "country band" falls far short of describing their musical versatility. These guys really rocked!

Taken yesterday at the "Chalk it Up 2009" event in downtown San Antonio.

This is from last year’s "Chalk It Up" event. Each year premiere artists join with various youth groups and organizations to fill the streets with chalk murals.

For those of you in San Antonio, consider attending this years upcoming event on October 10th, 2009.

I took a bunch of photos at the show yesterday, and I’m just starting to go through them. More to come…

Shot with my Nikon D300 and Sigma 70-200 2.8 lens. I used a monopod to help steady the camera. Even so, I wound up shooting at ISO 1600. Not bad, but a bit more noise than I would have liked.
